Huawei K4505
Huawei K4505 is Rx diversity only. Modem not recommended for use in low signal areas. |
Special Notes: Huawei K45xx external antenna connection
We list only our lower gain and internal antennas as being compatible with the Huawei K4505, K4511 & K3771.
The external antenna port on these modems is provided in order to connect a diversity RECEIVE antenna, in good reception areas. The modems primary internal antenna is always connectedand is used to both RECEIVE and TRANSMIT. However, Auxillary, not the Main antenna is switched to the external antenna port, and is only used to RECEIVE. It does not TRANSMIT.
Thus, in an average to good reception area, the addition of an external diversity receive antenna, may help performance and throughput.
In an area where the service will ONLY work with an external antenna, these modems are useless as connecting an external antenna will make it a very good 'listener' (receive), but it cannot 'talk' (transmit). External antennna socket is for an auxilliary antenna and not a substitute for the main internal antenna, as it is not Rx/Tx Diversity.
