Huawei B593 External Antenna Selection

The Huawei B593 External Antenna has a known issue with certain firmware versions which prevents these modems from automatically selecting the external antenna. This comes about because of two reasons:
1. Optus firmware versions have removed the ability to manually select the external antenna in the software settings.
2. The automatic detection of a connected external antenna is by detecting a low DC resistance of the antenna.
Whilst our Yagi and LPDA antennas have low DC resistance, not all antennas do.
To be able to manually switch the modem to connect to the external antenna there is a firmware "upgrade" available. For more information regarding firmware for your particular B593 version visit the Huawei support community:
